November - December 2015 - Alan Merrill's composition "I Love Rock 'N Roll" is in the Japanese charts first week of December 2015 by Superfly. The album sold over 100,000 copies in the first two days of release making it instant gold. Alan Merrill also played guitar on Superfly's cover of "I Love Rock N Roll" on the album adding a personal touch. Alan Merrill has also played at numerous New York City local venues these two months, both solo acoustic and with the band. The Alan Merrill Band will play New Year's Eve at Nancy Lee's at 1420 3rd avenue between 80th and 81st street on the upper east side of Manhattan. Come rattle your pearls and jewelry into the New Year 2016! The party starts at 10:30 PM until 1:30 AM. It's always rock n roll!
September - October 2015 - Alan Merrill's composition "I Love Rock 'N Roll" is being covered by Japanese superstar Superfly this Oct. 2015, with him playing multi tracked guitars on the recording. Release date to be announced soon. Aso Alan played a solo acoustic story- teller's style show at the Jamaica Queens library in New York City and afterwards also played a second show outdoors (acoustic) at the Gardens at 6th and ave. B, the "Music Under The Stars" series. As they did all summer, this fall the Alan Merrill Band will be playing the new rock venue Wild Horse NYC every Tuesday at 1629 2nd ave. between 84th and 85th st. at 9 PM, as well as some solo acoustic Sundays. July - August 2015 - The Alan Merrill Band are playing the new rock venue Wild Horse NYC every Tuesday at 1629 2nd ave. between 84th and 85th st. and will be playing there on a regular basis all summer, as well as some solo acoustic Sundays. Alan Merrill has also played at other local venues this month both solo acoustic and with the band. Busy summer months for live shows. Alan did Rick Hunt & Angie Bowie's 90 minute radio show which is archived for those who want to hear it. He was featured in the popular Daily Yomiuri newspaper July 23, 2015 in Japan. The publication has over 10,000,000 readers.
April - May 2015 - Alan Merrill will be in Japan for two weeks in mid May to promote The Arrows "First Hit" re-issue there on Warner Brothers and the 40th anniversary of the release of the original Arrows a-side version of "I Love Rock N Roll" written and sung by Alan Merrill, on May 16th. Alan has a live TV band backed concert broadcast from beautiful Zushi Beach in Japan on Fuji TV, radio shows on InterFM "Lazy Sunday Show" (with a solo acoustic performance), the popular Bunka Hoso radio show and more. Also an in depth interview with the Yomiyuri Daily newspaper (8,000,000 readers). Live shows at clubs Surfers, Thumbs Up in Yokohama and Again in Tokyo. On April 24th Alan Merrill performed at a memorial show for Michael Brown of the Left Banke at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City. On April 28th Alan will film the debut Andy Troy TV show as a guest artist.

News! ~ Alan Merrill's composition "Moving Next Door To You" (RAK records) as recorded by his band Arrows in 1975 was used in the BBC1 show "Houses Under The Hammer" in Feb. 2015. Also a solo performance of his composition "I Love Rock N Roll" was broadcast in England and Europe on New Year's Eve 2014 into 2015.
